Benalmádena
is devided in three zones. The Benalmádena
Costa with its 9km of beaches with(the Paseo and
the beautiful harbour. And the second part, the
old valley (Benalmádena Pueblo), from which
you can have a panoramic view over the coast,
and the third part between the mountain and the
coast (Arroyo de la Miel). Benalmádena
has a complete area of 26,58 km and is situated
280m above the sea level.
Those who don´t want to lay all days on
the beach can find Restaurants and Bars directly
by the main street, which is also the centre.

Above
the main street from Fuengirola to Torremolinos
is the centre with shops and it offers also a
railway station. Driving in direction to the mountains,
you will pass the amusement park Tívoli,
and then you reach the old village. To walk is
perhaps not recomendable. Better to drive with
the car, because it is a long way up to the village.
The
village-street is well built and a lot of buildings
were wonderful redeveloped.

The
alleys and places of the village Benalmádena
show the typical andalusian charm.

You
should spend a full moon night on top of the village
near the village church Santo Domingo in the gardens
"Jardines del Muro" to enjoy the stunning
views. It is indeed worthwhile!

Castillo
de Colomares, a phantastic built monument as honour
of Columbus should also be visited. You can daily
see birds, specially eagles.
The village offers also beautiful places with
fountains and Bistros to relax as well as a riding
club and a Multi-Sport-Centre with a grass field
for different kinds of sport, with swimming pool
and other possibilities of sport.

The
tourist office is integrated in the museum. Here
you receive historical facts and you can see vessels
and figurees of excavations. The village Benalmádena
has a rich roman and phonetically past. The museum
was renovated and special furnished. But don´t
expect a big museum. Here you can also get informations
about Benalmádena.

The
town hall (Ayuntamiento) is situated directly to
the main street of the village. The visitor will
be shown a demanding ambience like in most of the
town halls in Spain. The Patio is wonderful constructed
and with lighting. Through the glass dome sinlight
comes in.

The
market place with its marble fountains offers also
a Restaurant to spend a little time. The old village
is beautiful and clean. To make a visit... it´s
worth it.
Important
Festivities:
Easter week (Semana Santa) with representation of
the Passion Jesus Christ (El Paso) in the village
Benalmádena Pueblo.
The procession del Corpus in Benalmádena
Pueblo, a night before, when the alleys are filled
with flowers for the previous notice.
Events in honour of San Juan Bautista in Arroyo
de la Miel, approx. 24th to 29th of June.
Events in honour of the Virgen de la Cruz, in the
middle of August in the village Benalmádena
Pueblo.
